What is a honeymoon registry and how does it work?
Times have changed and so has the way couples are registering for wedding gifts.Couples today are seeking out careers first and marriage is coming later with the average age between 28-38 years. Since many couples are established with their own apartments or homes, the traditional wedding gifts such as china or a place setting is not always what a couple needs.
The alternative to a traditional store registry is the honeymoon gift registry. The honeymoon registry is designed for friends and family to purchase a ‘portion’ of your honeymoon as their wedding gift or even a shower gift.

Is there a fee to plan the honeymoon?
Speak with a honeymoon specialist and your first consultation is FREE. If you decide to employ the services of our honeymoon specialists there is a deposit of $75.00 per person which is applied to the cost of your honeymoon. For Destination Weddings and very involved itineraries additional fees may apply.
- How do we let our guests know about our registry?
This is one of the most important aspects to a successful registry, getting the word out! Relying on 'word-of-mouth' does not work according to our statistics. To ensure your guests know about your registry we include100 announcement cards. The cards and envelope are elegant personalized cards.. No post cards here! We will also do the mailing - postage included. The cards invite guests to visit your personal webpage or to call our 800 number to purchase a piece of your dream honeymoon. NEW Also included are 50 cards which can be used to place in a bridal invitation.

Can we add a personal photo?Yes, not only can you add a photo to your website and write a message to your guests. You can tell them how you met, how he popped the question or why you chose your honeymoon destination. Invite your guests to be a part of this exciting time in your life by giving the page your own style and personality.

How do we receive our gifts?
A check will be sent to you two weeks prior to your honeymoon date for the full amount of the gifts received. A final check will be sent to you when your registry is closed. Additional checks requested within two weeks of your honeymoon will incur an additional charge for overnight mail.

What does a honeymoon registry look like?
The best way to find out what the gift registry looks like is to click on Sample Registries. This will allow you to see how the honeymoon is broken down into gift items that your friends and family can purchase for you as a shower or wedding gift. Gift items can range from spa treatments to dinners or money towards your hotel stay.

How much does a registry cost?
There are no hidden costs in our registry. You may see other registries claim to have a 'free' registry but check carefully for hidden costs that may be higher than our one-time set up fee. Our one-time set up fee is $150.00*. This includes creating and customizing your gift registry web page. Our registry is not self-sersvice. We create the registry for you so you don't have to do the work! The registry fee includes creating your personal webpage, private username and password that you can acess anytime to see a summary of gift purchases. The itemized list includes the name of the person who purchased the gift, the gift item and a personal sentiment. Perfect for sending out your thank you cards! The registry includes 100 linen stock announcement cards (no postcards here) and includes postage. It's as easy as that!
*The $150 fee is non-refundable once the registry is created by Distinctive Honeymoons.. If there is a change of destination and a new registry needs to be created, an additional fee of $75.00 will apply.
- Is there a fee for purchasing a gift?
Yes, there is a nominal service and handling fee of 9% added to the gift amount.

How long can I keep my registry active?
Most couples like to keep their registries open for at least 2 weeks after their wedding date. This takes care of guests who purchase at the last minute.

How do our guests purchase a gift?
Simple! There are two ways to purchase a gift. They can go directly to the Distinctive Honeymoon website and purchase a gift by typing in your last name or if your guest does not have access to a computer they can purchase a gift by calling our 800 number.

What if my guest lives in another country?
Whether your guests are in England or China, a gift can be purchased for you from anywhere in the world – literally!

How do we know when a gift has been purchased?
Each time one of your guests purchases a gift you will immediately receive a beautiful e-card. The e-card will give you the name of the person who purchased the gift, the gift item and a personal note from your guests.

Is there a way to keep track of the gifts I receive?
With so many details involved in planning a wedding we know it’s important to be organized! To make life easier when sending out thank you cards, you will be able to go to your webpage and access a personal summary page. This page will have a list of the guests who have purchased a gift for you, the items purchased and a personal note attached.
