THE HALKIN

     A Decade of Excellence - Conceived, created and owned by Christina Ong, The Halkin is internationally regarded as London’s most innovative and exciting hotel. Offering the highest levels of comfort and facilities in a striking and contemporary style, the Halkin has achieved a unique and much respected reputation for excellence since opening in 1991.
     The Halkin sits on a peaceful street in the heart of Belgravia, between Knightsbridge and Mayfair and within easy access to shops. The property’s Georgian-style façade gives the appearance of a traditional hotel – but inside, high-tech and supremely functional modern Italian design prevails.  The lobby, with its polished marble floors, arched windows, and striking mural by the artist Valentino Vago, leads to the reception on the right and an informal lounge area and small, intimate bar to the left.
     A few steps straight ahead leads visitors into the acclaimed new restaurant from famous Australian chef David Thompson, which now has an acclaimed Michelin star – the first and only Thai restaurant in the world to do so.  Nahm opened in July 2001 and serves innovative Thai cuisine.
     Upstairs, each floor at The Halkin has been assigned a color associated with a different element – water, air, fire, earth and sky.    All rooms and suites are furnished to superlative standards and most have their own sitting areas, whilst the decor is uncluttered and elegant.
