Our first stop was Cape Town. We spent five nights there which we felt was the right amount of time to stay. We went on a half-day city tour which was great to get us oriented and see a few of the sights. We took a full-day wine tour and a full-day peninsula tour. Both tours were excellent, informational and fun. We also went to the top of Table Mountain and did some exploring of the city on our own where we found great views and food! On our last day in Cape Town we went on a full-day shark cage-diving trip.
Our second stop was Kruger National Park. The safari drives that we took were so amazing. We were extremely lucky and saw all of the major animals in the park (elephants, lions, rhinos, buffalos, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles, vultures, giraffes, monkeys, wildebeests, impalas, kudus, warthogs and zebras). Seeing the animals in their habitat was an experience not to be missed!
Our third and final stop was Benguerra Island in Mozambique. The coast of Mozambique is one of the most beautiful places we both have ever seen. The first time we saw the water out of the plane window, we both were so happy that we chose to try this spot! One day we actually saw dolphins jumping in the water while we were lying in bed! We also did an island hopping tour which was awesome and we went scuba diving one day. Our diving trip was one of the most exciting experiences we have ever had diving. While we were down in the water, a humpback whale swam above us! It was unbelievable!
We would highly recommend traveling to Africa to everyone and for a honeymoon, it was so special. We loved every minute of it and didn’t want to leave. There is so much to see and we wish that we could have spent more time traveling to other places in Africa. We will definitely go back one day.
